Wanted (Formerly Gun & Powder) follows biracial sisters in the late 1800's who pass as white outlaws in the Wild West while seeking freedom, identity, and some family truth.
What's Wanted Like?
The musical takes place in Texas, 1893 and is based on the true story of Mary and Martha Clarke, two women who went from farm girls to outlaws. Determined to save their family, the twin sisters take fate into their own hands.
Wanted on Broadway Background
Show Formerly Titled ‘Gun & Powder"
The musical Gun & Powder was officially renamed to Wanted in October 2024, following a survey conducted by Telecharge that presented the new title as one of several options for the Broadway-bound production.
The title change was confirmed by the creative team and the production company, signaling a new chapter for the show as it prepares for its Broadway debut set for 2026.
Show Premiere 2019 and 2024
The show premiered off-Broadway in 2019 at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia. The production ran from April 9 to June 16, 2019, totaling approximately 10 weeks.
The show also had a run at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey in Spring 2024. The cast for this show included Liisi LaFontaine, Ciara Renée, Jeannette Bayardelle, Aaron James McKenzie, and Hunter Parrish.
Show Scheduled for Spring 2026 Season
The musical Gun & Powder has been rebranded as Wanted and is scheduled to make its Broadway debut in 2026. While the exact theater and performance dates have not been announced yet, a pre-Broadway workshop is planned for June 2025
