King Lear on Broadway Background

King Lear features an original score by the composer Philip Glass.

What’s King Lear Like?

The aging King Lear recognizes his own ultimate mortality and he talks to his Shakespearean lawyer to plan ahead to bequeath his estate. He decides to divide his chattels between his three daughters, but refuses to grant his youngest daughter a share due to their poor discourse. His decision ultimately leads to chaos and treachery within his kingdom and ultimately madness for himself.

Is King Lear Good for Kids?

Unless big fans of classic Shakespeare, younger children should give this show a miss.
