What's Gutenberg! The Musical Like?

Bud and Doug, are a pair of aspiring playwrights, who perform a financial backer’s audition for their new project: a musical about printing press inventor Johannes Gutenberg.

The duo sing all the songs and play all the parts in the show with the hope that the producers will give them a Broadway contract. The inept show-within-a-show parodies many musical theater conventions and borrows heavily from other shows.

Johann Gutenberg Invents The Printing Press

The show is play-within-a-play and is set in 1436. It's about Johann Gutenberg a wine presser in the medieval German town of Schlimer who unwittingly invents the printing press.
