Macbeth on Broadway Background

Daniel Craig has finally put his James Bond movie character to bed in No Time To Die and has now returned to his first-love of appearing in live theatre. Ian Fleming's Bond movies spanned 35 movies over a 60 year period and Craig appeared as 007 in five of them.

Shakespeare's Macbeth on Broadway is Craig's first stop on Broadway since the end of the Bond Franchise. Craig has starred in two previous Broadway plays, the 2009 production of “A Steady Rain” and a 2013 revival of “Betrayal.” In Macbeth. Craig received lauded reviews for both roles.

In Macbeth, Craig plays the titular role of Macbeth, but the role of Lady Macbeth is really the main protagonist in the story. That role is played by , Ruth Negga. Negga, is known for her work on TV and film in the TV show “Preacher” and the film “Loving,”

Last year, Negga played the title role in “Hamlet”, where Negga played Hamlet himself.. Negga had also previously played Ophelia in an Off-Broadway production.

What's Macbeth Like?

Macbeth is Shakespeare's tale of malice, matrimony and murder. Macbeth tells the story of a couple’s obsession with power and how to get it through by committing murder.
