The Emeril Lagasse Show

There's been great mourning among fans of the cooking show ever since the Food Network's insanely popular Emeril Live was canceled in late 2007. Fortunately everybody's favorite chef, Emeril Lagasse, is now back in New York City with a brand new television show, The Emeril Lagasse Show. Taped in NYC, The Emeril Lagasse Show is taped in front of a live studio audience and features a live band, musical performances, special guests, and of course Emeril himself cooking up a storm. The program will even include unusual "field pieces" taped on location throughout the New York City area.

Emeril Lagasse

Emeril Lagasse is possibly the most famous gourmet chef in the world. But he didn't get that way overnight. Emeril worked at a bakery in his youth, then he studied the culinary arts at Johnson and Wales University, going on to learn how to create fine cuisine in France. Lagasse subsequently worked at restaurants in many notable cities, such as Boston and New York, gradually ending up in New Orleans, where he established his reputation as a chef.

Emeril gained recognition as the Executive Chef at the Commander's Palace restaurant in N'awlins, and he eventually became a household name with his cookbooks and cooking shows on the Food Network. Even people who aren't foodies know Emeril thanks to his catchphrases "Bam!" and "Kick it up a notch!"

In 2008, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia acquired the rights to much of the Emeril empire, including his TV shows, best-selling cookbooks, and the Emeril brand cookware and food products. It is in fact the team behind The Martha Stewart Show who will be handling Emeril's new TV show. However, Emeril Lagasse does still have the rights to his various popular restaurants. And now he's back on TV again, demonstrating why he has been such a successful restaurateur while making his fans happy with his great recipes and energetic cooking style.
