Ragtime Show Summary
The epic musical based on E.L. Doctorow's novel returns to Broadway in this new production directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. Set at the dawn of the 20th century, Ragtime featuring rollicking ragtime music and soaring ballads by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens. Weaving historical figures like Emma Goldman and Booker T. Washington into a fictional tale of people from very different backgrounds meeting under difficult circumstances, it tells the story of America as it went through sometimes glorious, sometimes violent social upheaval.

The first staging of Ragtime was seen in the Ford Center for the Performing Arts from 1998 to 2000.

Ragtime Show Synopsis:

Show Notes:
Although it is not quite as visually impressive as the handsome original Broadway production, this revival of the epic American musical sounds every bit as beautiful, with a full orchestra and an excellent cast realizing Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens' gorgeous score full of soaring ballads and syncopated rhythms.
