Show Summary
The Audience is a new play by Peter Morgan that transfers to Broadway from London’s West End, where it received magnificent reviews. Helen Mirren (Hitchcock, The Debt) stars as Queen Elizabeth II (the present Queen of England), reprising the role she played in the 2013 West End production of The Audience, for which she received the Olivier Award for Best Actress. Mirren also played Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 film The Queen, the screenplay for which was also written by Peter Morgan, and for which Mirren won the 2006 Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. The Broadway production of The Audience is directed by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot: The Musical), who also directed the London production. The play revolves around Queen Elizabeth II and her intimate discussions with each of the prime ministers that has served Britain during her tenure as Queen.

The audience show on Broadway
  What Is THE AUDIENCE Like?
Ever since her ascension to the throne in 1952, Queen Elizabeth II has held weekly meetings with each of her prime ministers, numbering 12 over the years, who have included David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, John Major, Margaret Thatcher, James Callaghan, Harold Wilson, Anthony Eden, and Winston Churchill. The Audience is a fictional representation of a series of these meetings, wherein each head of state is private audience to the Queen. The Audience takes Broadway audiences into the Buckingham Palace where we catch glimpses of the magnificent woman on the throne, as well as the men and woman who have led Britain over the course of her reign.

Is THE AUDIENCE Good for Kids?

The Audience is suitable for children of any change; however children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.

The closest parking is not always the best as it often takes longer to park and retrieve your vehicle as fellow theatre goers have the same idea. A better choice of parking may be the second choice or further away by a couple of Avenues.
