The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn in Los Angeles

Craig
Kilborn has taken a personal vow to make his show the top-rated late night
program on any network sometime toward the end of February Sweeps during the
2012-2013 television season.
In the interim, he is totally committed to making the show "Significantly
above average."
Kilborn, of course, is no stranger to outrageous promises. As a child, he
regularly told his parents he would earn straight A's on his report card.
In 12 years, he managed one - thanks to his recitation on good grooming (Magenta
and You: Think About It), which later served as the basis for his senior thesis.

Craig Kilborn Bio
At college, Craig pledged
to lead the Montana State University Bobcats basketball team to the NCAA Sweet
Sixteen. Although the team finished fourth in the Big Sky Conference, Kilborn
did lead the league in turnovers - despite limited playing time resulting
from a nagging groin pull. As a radio and television play-by-play commentator
for the Savannah Spirits of the Continental Basketball Association, he told
fans of the much-traveled franchise that, this time, the team"was in
town to stay." The Spirits, and Kilborn, were history by March
15. Later, as sports director for KCBA-TV in Monterey, Calif., he informed
viewers that Mark McGwire confided to him he "would always wear Athletic
green and yellow." Some guys just can't be trusted. As host of
ESPN's popular early morning SportsCenter, Kilborn said it "would take
a case of Macallan 25 and a box of Macanudos" for him to co host with
"highlight hogging" Keith Olbermann. Actually, all it took
was one Boston Market dinner with an extra side of slaw - and the threat of
yet another suspension. While with Comedy Central, Kilborn avowed that he
would never leave as host and major creative source for the network's
hit, The Daily Show, until he was heading up a network late-night show. Hey,
there's always a first time.
Craig Kilborn took over as host of THE LATE
LATE SHOW on CBS on March 30, 1999. TomSnyder had hosted the program
since its inception on January 9, 1995. |
