GENERAL INFORMATION ON best seats TO THIS SHOW
Seats on the right hand side of the auditorium at this show are definitely preferable to the left hand side, as there is more activity on the LHS of the stage because of the trap door access that is used in many scenes of the show - The show tries to balance it out a bit by sending some performers to the left hand side, but they are just a distraction from the real action which tends to gravitate on the right hand side of the stage. Seats too close to the stage miss all the action on the ceiling of the theatre. The best spot is at least 10 rows back.

ANYONE RUSH TICKETS
- TICKET LOTTERY
Each day, 2½ hours prior to show time (11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for 3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theatre box office will have their names placed in a hat. 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front-row (Row AA) seats at $25 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person, cash only. You do not need to be a student. On some days the numbers of people for the lottery is high - we have seen over 350 on one day, you can reduce this by going for the lottery for the matinee show instead, the number can be as low as 50. They are now asking for a picture ID so you cannot enter the lottery more than once, just to make it fair for everyone. Even though the seats are at the very front, the sight lines are poor and the audio is terrible (Often you cannot hear the actors over the orchestra) - You will miss some of the action on the ceiling of the theatre unless you are able to crick back your neck and look vertically upwards- But the these up-front seats are only $25, so don't complain about them :-)

PARTIAL VIEW TICKETS
Every Wicked show sells 26 "partial view" seats that are sold for a bargain $55 weekday, $65 Friday and $75 weekend.
These seats are located on the extreme sides of the orchestra where some of the action/backdrop will be missed.
13 seats on each side of the theatre are up for grabs. Most of the seats are in pairs and you are allowed to buy these seats well in advance.
In some cases these seats are next to the $250 premium seats, so its well worth the gamble to try them out.

The rows offered are BB (Right behind the lottery winners) thru to row K. see our theatre seat map to get a better idea click here
The audio in these areas can be poor, sometimes you have to strain to hear the performers or the music is much too loud - but you are pretty close to the action which more than makes up for it.
The rows up front are great to see the actors expressions, but the closer to the stage you are the less you will see on the other side and your view of the whole stage and roof action is poor. The partial view seats further back, behind row F, are much better. Watch out though, rows J and K have a support pillar in front and/or next to them that considerably reduces the view of the stage.
If you try to buy "partial view" Wicked tickets online at TicketMaster.com, the web site will quite ridiculously try to sell the closest to the stage first, which obviously are not the best seats for partial viewing - So its best to buy "partial view" tickets in person at the theater box office where you can request the furthest back partial view tickets available. Or you can call Ticketmaster at 800-755-4000 or 212-307-4100 and try to get an operator to understand what the heck you are talking about - they always pitch tickets closest to the stage too, they probably have never seen Wicked and will not know what you are talking about.

Ebay, STUBHUB and Craigslist
You will often find that Wicked Tickets being sold on the classifieds web sites are in fact "partial view" tickets being resold disguised as regular tickets, the key is to look for the words "partial view" or "on the side" in the ticket description to avoid confusion between these and the legitimate regular tickets. The price difference should be considerable, although we have seen bidding on these "Partial View" tickets in the same ballpark as regular tickets, which is clearly not correct.
