ANYONE RUSH TICKETS
Each day, 2½ hours prior to show time (11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for 3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theatre box office will have their names placed in a hat. 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front-row (Row AA) seats at $25 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person, cash only. You do not need to be a student. On some days the numbers of people for the lottery is high - we have seen over 350 on one day, you can reduce this by going for the lottery for the matinee show instead, the number can be as low as 50. They are now asking for a picture ID so you cannot enter the lottery more than once, just to make it fair for everyone. Even though the seats are at the very front, the sight lines are poor and the audio is abysmal - But the seats are only $25, so dont complain :-)

PARTIAL VIEW TICKETS At every show 26 "partial view" seats are sold at $65 each.
These seats are located on the extreme sides of the orchestra where some of the action/backdrop will be missed.
13 seats on each side of the theatre are up for grabs. You are allowed to buy these seats well in advance.
In some cases these seats are next to the $250 premium seats, so its well worth the gamble to try them out.
The rows offered are BB (Right behind the lottery winners) thru to row K. see our seat map to get a better idea.
The audio in these areas can be poor, sometimes you have to strain to hear the performers - but you are pretty close to the action which more than makes up for it.
The rows up front are great to see the actors expressions, but the closer to the stage you are the less you will see on the other side and your view of the whole stage and roof action is poor. The partial view seats further back, behind row F, are much better. Rows J and K have a pillar in front and/or next to them that reduces the view though.
The right hand side of the auditorium is definitely preferable to the left hand side, as there is more activity on this side because of the trap door used in the show, the show tries to balance it a bit by sending performers to the left hand side, but the right side is clearly preferable.
If you try to buy partial view tickets online at TicketMaster it will sell the closest to the stage first, so its best to buy them in person at the theater where you can request the furthest back partial view tickets available. Or you can call Ticketmaster at 800-755-4000 or 212-307-4100.
Many of the tickets on ebay.com are "partial view" tickets being resold as regular tickets, the key is to look for the words "partial view" or "on the side" to avoid confusion between these and regular tickets.
