Accent On Youth on Broadway
David Hyde Pierce takes the lead in the cast of the Manhattan Theatre Club's revival of the play Accent on Youth, playwright Samson Raphaelson's witty comedy that salutes the possibilities of love both onstage and off. Best known for co-starring as Niles on the long-running NBC comedy Frasier, the Tony-winning Pierce also has plenty of Broadway credits, including the musicals Curtains and Spamalot. Under the direction of Daniel Sullivan (Rabbit Hole, Proof), this production offers a new look at Raphaelson’s play.

Our Recommendation Samson Raphaelson's 1934 play stars David Hyde Pierce (Frasier, Spamalot, Curtains) in a performance which demonstrates that he is successfully making the transition from comic sidekick to unassuming leading man. Though the play is certainly a bit dated, it still plays as quite charming and funny, and it also offers some thoughtful meditations on love and youth.
