Age
Wit may be inappropriate for theatergoers age 12 and under. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.

Our Recommendation More than 10 years after it played Off-Broadway and nabbed a well-deserved Pulitzer Prize, Margaret Edson's play Wit comes to Broadway with Cynthia Nixon playing the role of a strong-willed woman who takes on a rigorous treatment plan for her Stage 4 cancer. Despite its serious subject, the play is full of humor, and Nixon is excellent as the unemotional poetry scholar who is more likely to make deadpan jokes than to feel sorry for herself. Wit does pack an emotional wallop, though, not just in its depiction of the pain of cancer, but in how it uses poetry (even the simple verse in a children's book) to illuminate the spirit of this brave woman as she battles the inevitable and wrestles with her own need for human connection.
