Summary Frank Abagnale, Jr. passes as an airline pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer, getting money by passing fake checks and living a luxurious lifestyle along the way. But a tenacious, straight-laced FBI agent is determined to track down the brilliant young con artist and put him in jail.
Age Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
Our Recommendation A solid musical comedy/drama by the team that brought you Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can does not have the joy and vigor of its predecessor, but it does provide an entertaining evening in the theater. At the heart of the show is the complicated relationship between Frank and his father, well realized by Aaron Tveit and Tom Wopat, respectively. As the determined FBI agent, the ever-reliable Norbert Leo Butz is perhaps a bit too self-consciously quirky, but he has some nice moments, notably the touching 1st act ender with Tveit, "My Favorite Time of Year". Overall, the show's songs are good, but they are a bit overwhelmed by Sinatra-esque big band arrangements.
