Our Recommendation If listening to a slew of classic pop, doo-wop, and rock 'n' roll tunes from the '50s and '60s is your idea of a great time in the theater, then this musical is perfect for you. However, don't go expecting good storytelling or depth of character, as Baby It's You is more interested in shoe-horning familiar songs into the show than creating a strong story. Headed by the always excellent Beth Leavel, the cast does its best to tell the true-life tale of a Jersey housewife who creates a successful record label, but Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott (who wrote the similarly shallow tuner Million Dollar Quartet) fail to deliver a drama worthy of the intriguing premise.
