Summary Performed as a minstrel show, the new Kander & Ebb musical The Scottsboro Boys tells the tragic true story of nine young African-American men falsely accused of committing a crime against two white women.

Age
May be inappropriate for ages 12 and under. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.

Our Recommendation
The excellent cast brings to life a tale of injustice that deserves to be told. The story is compelling, and the score is good on the whole, but lacking many notable songs. The minstrel conceit is a risky concept that may be off-putting to some, but serves as a striking contrast that highlights the tragic nature of the story.
