A View From the Bridge on Broadway
Film star Scarlet Johansson (Lost in Translation, The Nanny Diaries, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) makes her Broadway debut in a new revival of Arthur Miller's classic tragedy A View From the Bridge. In the production, she will play the niece of a Brooklyn dockworker, a part that is going to be played by Liev Schreiber. Tony Award winner Schreiber, recently seen on the big screen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, has a long list of theater credits, including Broadway productions of Glengarry Glen Ross, Talk Radio, and Betrayal.
Originally produced on Broadway in 1955, A View From the Bridge had its most recent Broadway revival in an acclaimed 1997 Roundabout Theatre Company production starring Anthony LaPaglia, Allison Janney, and Brittany Murphy. This newest revival is directed by Gregory Mosher and will play at the Cort Theatre.

Show Synopsis:
As he did with his classic drama Death of a Salesman, playwright Arthur Miller shows us that an ordinary man's life can be the stuff of great tragedy in A View From the Bridge. The drama is about Eddie, a working class Brooklyn man who has built a nice life for himself and his family. He is a hard-working man of integrity whose loyalty to family compels him to take in both some immigrant cousins and his niece. However, it is that act of generosity that eventually leads to Eddie's undoing.
