The Royal Family on Broadway
Manhattan Theatre Club presents a new Broadway revival of the 1927 George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber comedy about theater folk, The Royal Family. The play is about the glittering, drama-filled life of the Cavendishes, a fictional acting family based on the real-life Barrymore clan, headed by famed siblings John, Lionel, and Ethel (and currently represented by Drew Barrymore). The production, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Broadway's Doubt and Frozen), stars several real-life Broadway stars, including Rosemary Harris and John Glover.
