Significant Other

Following the success of his breakthrough hit Bad Jews, playwright Joshua Harmon returns to Roundabout with Significant Other, a “sharp, witty and gloriously written” (Entertainment Weekly) new play directed by Trip Cullman (Punk Rock, Murder Ballad).

In this “hilarious and heart-tugging” (Daily News) quarter-life coming-of-age story, Jordan Berman would love to be in love, but that's easier said than done. So, until he meets Mr. Right, he wards off lonely nights with his trio of close-knit girlfriends. But as singles’ nights turn into bachelorette parties, Jordan finds that supporting the ones you love can be just as impossible as finding love itself.

Significant Other takes us into the trenches of single life in the city and reminds us that you can’t hurry love — no matter how much you wish you could.

Roundabout’s work with new and emerging playwrights and directors,
as well as development of new work, is made possible by Katheryn Patterson and Tom Kempner.

We gratefully acknowledge the Roundabout Leaders for New Works: Alec Baldwin,
Peggy and Mark Ellis, Jodi Glucksman, Sylvia Golden, Judith and Douglas Krupp, K. Myers,
Laura Pels International Foundation for Theater, Laura S. Rodgers,
Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust, Yolanda R. Turocy, Lori Uddenberg, and Xerox Foundation.
