It has officially been announced that Norbert Leo Butz will play lead villain (i.e. corporate executive) Jeffrey Skilling in the forthcoming Broadway production of Lucy Prebble's Enron, which is hot off a run at London's Royal Court Theatre. Tony Award winner Butz has been seen on Broadway in numerous shows, including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Is He Dead?, Thou Shalt Not, Rent, and recently as a replacement for Jeremy Piven in David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow.Labels: Enron, Norbert Leo Butz
The recently discovered Mark Twain play, Is He Dead?, which was adapted for Broadway by playwright David Ives, will close on Sunday, March 9. Featuring Broadway star Norbert Leo Butz as an artist who fakes his death, the farcical comedy will have played a total of 118 performances at the Lyceum Theatre when it has its final Broadway bow.

There's a whole lot of Broadway on the big screen right now, thanks to the new warm-hearted comedy Dan in Real Life, which opened in movie theaters this weekend. Playing Steve Carell's brother is Norbert Leo Butz, who has starred in Broadway musicals Wicked and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and is currently on the Great White Way in the Mark Twain play Is He Dead? Carell's eldest daughter is played by Allison Pill, who is also currently starring in a Broadway play, Mauritius. Other Broadway regulars in the Dan in Real Life cast include Matthew Morrison, John Mahoney, and Frank Wood.
