Bid To See A Steady Rain and Meet Hugh Jackman

Friday, October 16, 2009

A Steady Rain Broadway ShowThe only thing better than seeing Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig live on stage at the Schoenfeld Theatre on Broadway in A Steady Rain? Seeing them in A Steady Rain then actually getting to meet Hugh Jackman in person after the show. Which you can do, if you bid on this charity auction for the opportunity to get two tickets to the show and a meet-and-greet with Jackman. The current bid is at $2,250, and the auction doesn't end for another six days. Although the price is obviously steep, Jackman will be donating the money to a good cause, Oprah's Angel Network. And when you consider you're getting two tickets to the 'hot ticket' Broadway show of the season, as well as the chance to chat and get a photo with a major movie star, it's not such a bad deal.

A Steady Rain Opens On Broadway

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

A Steady Rain Broadway ShowThere's A Steady Rain on Broadway, of the theatrical kind. The new play by Keith Huff is opening at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, where it is scheduled to play a strictly limited engagement through December 6. Although Huff is undoubtedly a fine playwright, the fact is that the big draw of this two-person Chicago cop drama is that it features two major movie stars, Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Wolverine, Australia) and Daniel Craig (Casino Royale, Layer Cake, The Golden Compass). Neither are new to the stage. Jackman's big breakout in the theater world was his role as Curly in a London revival of Oklahoma! in the late '90s, and he went on to win a Tony Award for his Broadway debut, the Peter Allen musical The Boy From Oz. Craig, known as the new James Bond on the big screen, did London stage work early in his career and was trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, but A Steady Rain marks his first appearance on Broadway.

A Steady Rain Tickets On Sale Today

Thursday, August 20, 2009

A Steady Rain Broadway ShowThere were lines at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre early this morning, as people arrived to buy seats for what is sure to be the new Broadway season's hottest ticket, A Steady Rain. Playwright Keith Huff's two-person drama is starring major international film stars Hugh Jackman (Wolverine, X-Men) and Daniel Craig (the James Bond series) as a pair of Chicago cops. The play will have only a limited engagement, from September 10 to December 6, as the actors have film commitments after that. Because the show's Broadway run is so short, the tickets are expected to go very fast, so anyone interested in seeing Jackman and Craig together on the Broadway stage should hurry to get them fast.

A Steady Rain To Become a Hollywood Film

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

A Steady Rain Broadway PlayA Steady Rain, the play that will be on Broadway this Fall at the Schoenfeld Theatre, is going to soon become a movie too. The two-person play is already getting an incredible amount of attention due to the fact that the Broadway production will star major Hollywood stars Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Wolverine, Australia, Broadway's The Boy From Oz) and Daniel Craig (James Bond in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace). Playwright Keith Huff, who is currently working on writing the screenplay adaptation of his own play, sold the film rights for A Steady Rain to the same producers who are behind the upcoming Broadway production. Whether or not Jackman and Craig will also star in the motion picture version has not been determined yet, but it just so happens that one of those producers is Barbara Broccoli, who is a longtime producer of the James Bond 007 movies.

Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman To Star In New Broadway Play

Thursday, July 9, 2009

Plans for Hugh Jackman's return to Broadway have been pretty well finalized - and he will be joined by another action-adventure star, Daniel Craig. The pair will be starring in A Steady Rain, a new play by Keith Huff, in a production to be directed by John Crowley. A Steady Rain will begin preview performances at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on September 10, with the official Broadway opening on September 29. The production will be a limited engagement, scheduled to end on December 6. With two major film stars, each at the head of his own movie franchise (Craig as James Bond, Jackman as Wolverine), and only a 12-week run, there will likely be pandemonium at the box office when tickets go onsale July 25 (or July 11 for the American Express pre-sale). A Steady Rain is a two-hander about two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends. The production will mark Daniel Craig's Broadway debut, but Hugh Jackman was previously seen on the Great White Way in The Boy From Oz.
