New Recording of Broadway's Spring Awakening

Tony-winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening, which has been lauded for its rock score by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, now has a second recording that fans can enjoy along with the original Broadway cast recording. "Spring Awakening: Live from SoHo" features six tracks that composer Sheik re-arranged for a seven-piece acoustic band. Sheik himself, along with a couple original cast members and a couple from the current Broadway cast, sing on the recording. "Spring Awakening: Live from SoHo" is now available as a digital EP on iTunes.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Spring Awakening, along with such plays as Avenue Q, Wicked and In The Heights, will be the subject of an exhibition at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts entitled Curtain Call: Celebrating a Century of Women Designing for Live Performance, running from November 17 through May 2, 2009. Included are intricate set models for Spring Awakening, in addition to costumes, designs, videos and much more from plays as far back as 1897 up until the recent smash, In The Heights. This is a chance to get closer to the stage than ever before. I encourage everyone to attend. Check out this link:
