Broadway-Bound A Tale of Two Cities Begins Performances Tonight in Sarasota

A Tale of Two Cities, the new musical based on the classic Charles Dickens novel, begins performances tonight in Sarasota, Florida for its out-of-town tryout. The Jill Santoriello musical is hoping to hit Broadway in early 2008, but no date has been set. Two Cities stars frequent Broadway leading man James Barbour (Beauty and the Beast, Jane Eyre) and Derek Keeling, one of the finalists from Grease - You're the One That I Want.

This spring, the best thing that could happen to Broadway, would be to provide a venue for Tale of Two Cities, which recently had its "pre-Broadway" debut in Sarasota. For those who did not get a chance to experience this truly engaging production, you would be robbed of a truly unique theater experience, if it is not picked up by Broadway. The music alone is amazing, and probably the most original and emotion stirring that Broadway has had the opportunity to expose in recent years. A true gem.
